#72 closed enhancement (fixed)

FITS file of moment-0 map

Description

Duchamp currently produces a Postscript file showing the moment-0 map of the input data cube integrated over the velocity range of the detected sources.

It would be very useful if Duchamp could also provide the same moment-0 map as a FITS file. This would allow users of Duchamp to load the map of detections into KARMA in order to overlay annotation files and produce high-quality figures for their publications.

Very good suggestion and will be done soon.

As discussed, an interim approach would be to make a mask - set flagOutputMask=true and use that to isolate the detected pixels in your cube, then make a moment-0 map from them.

This is implemented, and will be available in the next (upcoming) release. The user specifies this option by the flagOutputMomentMap parameter, optionally giving the filename via the fileOutputMomentMap parameter.

I have tested it with a range of datasets and it looks fine. If there are problems after the new release, let me know or submit a new ticket. This one is closed.
