Doing this correctly requires a 2D model of the beam over a wide range of frequencies and in all polarizations. The azimuthal structure of the beam beyond half power causes sources to be modulated in strength and polarization. The uvmodel task should use the full polarization 2D beam model (interpolated in frequency) to correctly predict the strength of the source for all polarizations, channels and times and subtract it from the uv data. In addition to the coding and testing effort required for this item, a substantial amount of work will be required to measure the beam to sufficient accuracy at a number of frequencies. FIXME: check that this discussion is about the '''primary''' beam. [wiki:Changes Changes Home][[BR]] [/trac/miriad4cabb Wiki Home]
