In an ideal world we would have easy access to these algorithms from the familiar miriad interface. Some effort should be expended to see if we can produce miriad tasks that link to other libraries to access new algorithms and hide the details from the user. If this proves too difficult, some essential new algorithms may need to be recoded in miriad to allow CABB data to be processed to the image quality and DR level required. Some examples of new algorithms: * Multi-scale multi-frequency imaging * scale sensitive deconvolution (ASP-clean) * peeling calibration (with position dependent selfcal) Not obvious this would be needed. If needed, it seems feasible to write some interfacing code - FORTRAN to C, C to C++ Not obvious that the projects we would draw code (CONRAD, CASA) from will have stable interfaces by the time we need them.
